Indigo e-Sign: electronic signatures with AI contract review built in
Indigo Software, a US software company in Texas, wanted an e-signature product that does more than collect signatures. We built Indigo e-Sign: one place to write, check, send and sign documents, with AI that reviews a contract before anyone signs it.

The challenge
Small businesses often sign contracts they have not fully read, or spend hours writing routine agreements from scratch. Most e-signature tools only collect signatures and leave the reading to the user.
Indigo Software wanted one simple tool, easy enough to use on a phone, where a customer can draft, understand and sign an agreement with confidence.
What we built
- The full signing flow: upload a PDF or import it from Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive, add the people who need to sign, and place signature, initials, date, text, checkbox and stamp fields for each person.
- Signing on any phone or computer from an email link: signers draw, type or upload a signature without creating an account.
- My Documents with live status for every signer, and downloads of the original and the signed copy.
- A full history and audit trail: every step is recorded with its time and IP address.
- Monthly plans and pay-as-you-go credit packs through Authorize.Net, and a developer API with sign templates, API keys and webhooks.
- Built on Python, Django and Wagtail CMS, with a Django REST Framework API (JWT), PostgreSQL and Django Q for background tasks.
How the AI works
- AI Review: one click reads the contract, gives it a risk score, explains the main issues clause by clause and offers rewrite suggestions the user can pick and apply.
- A highlighted copy of the PDF shows exactly which clauses need attention.
- Create with AI: a first draft of an NDA, service agreement, lease or other contract from a short description, which the user edits before sending.
- Summarize: a short overview and the key points of any document, shown next to the document.
- The AI runs through the Indigo DocuGuard AI API, inside the same screens as signing, so there is no separate tool to learn.
Results
- Users can draft, check and sign an agreement in one place, instead of a word processor, a lawyer's inbox and a signing tool.
- Risky clauses are flagged before signing, with fairer wording ready to apply.
- Signers need no account and no app, on phone or desktop.
